This weekend’s Trifextra challenge is to comeup with 30
words to decorate the 3 words given “Tether, Loft, Crown”
I have conjured up a melancholy princess living up to the beautiful image of royalty while her own little desires are drying up somewhere.
Bejeweled crown adorns my head
Is but a tether on my heart
Aimless wandering I crave
I smile, wave
Cringing within, put on a show
Locked in a secret loft
Dreams fade away.
This is lovely work.
ReplyDeleteThank u :-)
DeleteBeautiful. Living a life you don't want to live is a sentence no one should have to serve.
ReplyDeleteThanks and true, living untrue to herself is a prison.
DeleteThis is the epitome of "fake it to make it." I know you wrote this about a princess, but I think a lot of ordinary women live like this. Very poignant piece!
ReplyDeleteThank u. I know some too, who just cannot free themselves.
DeleteA crown can be a curse and a tether... great poetry.
